New Arabic Program


New Master's Program in Arabic

"Spoken by 200 million people, Arabic is one of the most widely used languages in the world and an official language of the United Nations. International organizations, including the UN and the European Union, government agencies in the United States and other countries, as well as businesses, have a strong need for qualified Arabic translators and interpreters."

Starting in Fall 2008, the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation will offer Arabic / English master's programs in:

Students gain mastery in translation and interpretation skills through a rigorous two-year curriculum. The first year is designed to provide students with basic knowledge of translation and interpretation. In their second year, all GSTI students declare a degree specialization and refine skills that will enable them to succeed as professional translators and interpreters. To complete their studies, students take a series of professional exams and most complete a thesis or research project.

  • Apply online to the Monterey Institute of International Studies! Application deadlines for scholarship consideration are December 1, February 1, and March 15.
  • Learn about scholarships from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
  • Request the Early Diagnostic Test (EDT) for Arabic by emailing admit@miis.edu. The Admissions Office will send you the test by post mail.
