GSTI currently has three classrooms equipped with real-life conference interpreting systems for simultaneous interpretation classes, which are also made available for student practice. Simultaneous Lab 3, in particular, has recently been upgraded with a state of the art conference interpreting system which allows the use of teaching materials in both digital and analogue formats.
Another classroom often used for interpretation and translation classes is the Multi-media Lab (MML) where students take classes in sight translation, translation and simultaneous interpretation.
Given the importance of technology to professional training in translation and interpretation, GSTI is constantly looking for opportunities to apply the latest professional as well as pedagogical technologies to teaching.
